Digital Extremes is a video game developer founded in 1993 by James Schmalz, with more than 450 staff and its headquarters in London, Ontario. It moved from the shareware title Epic Pinball to co-creating the Unreal series with Epic Games and then to free-to-play success with Warframe, which has over 50 million registered players, and is now developing the open-world cooperative follow-up Soulframe. Earlier credits in its catalog include Homefront, The Darkness II and Dark Sector, with Ontario Media Development Corporation listed as a partner.
