Shoptaugh Games was founded in 1979 and incorporated in 1983 in Oakland, California, by Philip Shoptaugh, a professional musician, inventor and game designer with more than a dozen patents. Its games began as 'pit games' played and tested by his colleagues in San Francisco orchestra pits before being commercialised, and all products are personally created or designed by him, manufactured in China and sold worldwide through an international distributor network.
