The Asian Art Museum of San Francisco is an art museum in the Civic Center, housed in the former Main Library building at the Chong-Moon Lee Center for Asian Art and Culture. Founded from Avery Brundage's 1966 donation of roughly 8,000 Asian artworks, it now holds more than 20,000 works spanning 6,000 years and presents special exhibitions, cultural celebrations and public education programmes, run by the Asian Art Museum Commission and the Asian Art Museum Foundation.
