al-Khwarizmi Games is a small independent board game publisher run by a group of IT professionals who met in Lublin, Poland, and named for al-Khwarizmi, the 9th-century scholar known as the father of algorithms. The studio prototypes and playtests the games it wishes existed and has released two titles: Ave, Leo!, a 2-6 player gladiatorial arena game for ages 8 and up that was reskinned as Cheesar's Arena and won Best Family Game at BIGF 2025, and Space Expatriate, a 2-4 player economic game about launching space stations, researching technologies and terraforming other planets.
