Hexsquare Games is a two-person tabletop wargame development site run by Justin Swanton and Noel Zaal, offering self-designed free rulesets rather than commercial products. Its best known system is Optio, a chance-free Ancients ruleset that groups bases into Command Groups on a square grid, resolves combat without dice on a Combat Scale, and models historical formations such as Roman line relief and Theban columns.
