Independent game company from Brooklyn, New York, founded around 2016 when designer Jade Shames prototyped what became Side Effects and illustrator Ben Bronstein helped develop it; Jen Igartua and Kat Thek later joined and ran the successful Kickstarter that funded the first release. The catalog spans card, word, and party games including Side Effects, Hex Effects, Perfect Stranger, MUD and Dead Letters, with a stated design goal of easy-to-learn games that also look like works of art. The company also runs a free daily browser word puzzle, Ampersandi.
