Cohort VIII Games (pronounced Cohort Eight) is a small independent board game publisher based in Sarasota, Florida. The company was originally formed in 2001 by software engineers Dawson Cowals and Joe Mistachkin to bring board games to the computer, and after roughly 17 years of delays returned to physically developing tabletop games; its two main in-house designers and founding partners are Jeff Huit and Dawson Cowals, with Cowals also handling most of the graphic design and illustration.
