The organization formerly known as the Tucson Audubon Society is now Tucson Bird Alliance, having voted on 6 May 2024 to drop the Audubon name; it has worked on behalf of birds in Southeast Arizona for 75 years, holding its first meeting in 1949. It is a bird conservation and education nonprofit running the Paton and Mason centers, the Vermilion Flycatcher magazine, the Southeast Arizona Birding Festival, youth education programs and habitat restoration projects.
