Lakki Patey is the Norwegian musician and founder who invented the New Amigos board game, a two-player language-learning game in which players teach each other their native language using 525 cards split into 420 language cards, 70 quiz cards and 35 role-play cards across three CEFR-aligned levels. It was developed in Norway in 2002, was the first educational game nominated for Game of the Year in the Netherlands (2006) in the open class, won the European Language Label in 2016, and around 400,000 units have sold.
