About
In 1872, Hieronymus and Halvard Aschehoug founded the assortment bookstore H. Aschehoug & Co. at Egertorget. The following year, the first publishing articles were published. In 1888 William Nygaard and Thorstein Lambrechts took over the company with Nygaard as the main responsible for the publishing business and Lambrechts for the bookstore. In the same year, the first children's book and the first adult fiction book were published.
