Crate Entertainment

About

Crate Entertainment, LLC is an independent PC and console development studio founded in 2008 by former design and art leads of Iron Lore Entertainment. Its first title, the action RPG Grim Dawn, was funded by a 2012 Kickstarter, released in 2016 and has sold over 5 million base-game copies; a Definitive Edition arrived on Xbox in December 2021. The studio's second game, the town-builder Farthest Frontier, released in 2025 and has sold over 1 million copies. It is funded entirely by its own games, with no publisher or investors, and is currently working on two unannounced projects.
