Tiltfactor is an interdisciplinary game design studio founded in 2003 by Dr. Mary Flanagan and housed at Dartmouth College in the Black Family Visual Arts Center in Hanover, New Hampshire. It designs board, card, digital, urban and sports games for social impact, applying a 'Critical Play' methodology and publishing empirical research on player behaviour. Its best known titles are the health-literacy game POX and its sequel ZOMBIEPOX, the bias-reduction card games Buffalo and Awkward Moment, and the digital game LAYOFF.
