Mossmouth is the one-man video game studio of Derek Yu, started in 2009 to release Spelunky, which became a defining roguelike-platformer and a long-running series including Spelunky 2. Mossmouth's own titles are Spelunky (2012), Spelunky Classic (2009), Spelunky 2 (2020) and UFO 50 (2024), the last of which won the New York Game Award for Best Indie Game in 2025. Yu works as a visual artist, game designer and occasional writer, and the studio's stated goal is to collaborate with other people on games that are dense, surprising and expressive.
