3000AD, Inc. was formed in 1992 by Derek Smart and is one of the oldest independent video game development studios, based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Its first title, Battlecruiser 3000AD, was released by Take-Two Interactive in October 1996 and represented over 14% of that publisher's revenue in its early SEC filings.
